Meet Sprocket: The Playful Shih Tzu Looking for a Loving Home! (2026)

Ready to open your heart and home to a furry friend? SPCA Florida is brimming with adorable adoptable pets, each with a unique story and personality! Let's dive in and meet some of these lovable companions.

First up: Sprocket! This little Shih Tzu mix packs a whole lot of charm into a 17.5-pound package. Orphaned since December 15th, this 1-year-old male is a social butterfly who thrives on daily walks, playtime with other dogs, and meeting new people. Sprocket is smart, a little chatty when treats are involved, and always ready for fun, though he may pull on his leash when excitement kicks in. After burning off energy, Sprocket happily switches into cuddle mode, serving up affection and sweetness in abundance. The adoption fee for Sprocket is $500.

Next, we have Bruno! This 3-year-old, 87-pound mixed breed is one half of a bonded pair. Orphaned since August 16th, Bruno is the energetic yin to his companion Bear's yang. Show Bruno a toy or treat, and he'll be all ears, eager to please. Both Bruno and Bear adore everyone and thrive on exercise. During downtime, they'll happily cuddle up, providing double the comfort. The adoption fee for Bruno is $150.

Now, let's meet Oreo! This 2-year-old, 8-pound Domestic Shorthair is as sweet as her namesake. Orphaned since September 19th, Oreo's striking black and white coat is just the beginning of her charm. She's playful, kittenish, and sure to win your heart. Oreo loves catnip, so be sure to have some on hand! The adoption fee for Oreo is $50.

Finally, we have Espresso! This 8-month-old, 10-pound Domestic Shorthair is a little cup of love with a big buzz! Orphaned since September 10th, Espresso is an affectionate kitty who's always ready for cuddles and playtime. He gets along great with other cats, making him the perfect addition to a multi-cat home. Espresso goes full steam ahead for wand toys and laser lights. The adoption fee for Espresso is $75.

Here's how to meet these wonderful animals: You can preview all the adoptable pets at SPCAFlorida.org. To meet or adopt a pet, visit the Adoption Center Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. or Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Important Note: Before adoption, all pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, and come with a month of flea and heartworm prevention. For any questions, contact SPCA Florida’s Adoption Center at 863-577-4615 or adopt@spcaflorida.org.

Now, for a bit of a controversial question: Considering the adoption fees, do you think the price reflects the value of the care and preparation the animals receive? What are your thoughts on adoption fees in general? Share your opinions in the comments below!
